Greensboro, North Carolina – 27th March 2012…TIMCO Aerosystems, a unit of TIMCO Aviation Services (“TIMCO”), is revealing the latest passenger seat in its popular FeatherWeight™ series at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg, Germany this week. The seat provides a number of innovations that deliver added comfort for passengers, including a curved back shell with upper literature pocket yielding greater knee and shin clearance, ten inch food trays with a “belly-room” curvature for added space and a conventional 6.5 inch recline.
The 3200 FeatherWeight™ is the product of a joint effort between TIMCO engineers and its customers, which offered input from their flying passengers on what they liked or did not like about similar standard economy seats. The result is a seat that delivers more amenities for the passenger, but at a significantly lighter weight for the operator. In addition, TIMCO incorporated a number of design elements that reduced part count and assembly complexity, in turn reducing long term maintenance cost.
Rick Salanitri, President of TIMCO Aerosystems, said, “This is a great example of how TIMCO actively listens to customers and uses design expertise coupled with years of practical maintenance experience to produce new products that truly deliver value. I’m proud of our team’s accomplishment and eager to share the benefits of the 3200 with our customers.”
TIMCO will be displaying the new 3200 seat as well as its other FeatherWeight™ products at the AIX from 27 to 29 March in Hamburg.
