AirVenture Winners Wear Scheme Designers Livery

Five aircraft wearing Scheme Designers paint schemes took home awards from EAA AirVenture this year. And the Scheme Designers Scavenger Hunt was again a huge hit with AirVenture attendees.

August 11, 2015 –  Five aircraft wearing Scheme Designers paint schemes took home awards from EAA AirVenture this year.  Diana Stanger and her Aero Vodochody L-139 received the award for Best Jet; George Bowlds and his RV-8 took home the Kit Champion – Bronze Lindy; Thomas Irion and his Velocity took home the Grand Champion Kit Built – Gold Lindy; Kenneth Orloff and his Marquart MA-5 took home the Grand Champion Plans Built – Gold Lindy; and DJ Dondelinger took home the Gold Lindy for his 1955 deHavilland Beaver.

"We are really honored to have helped so many award winners achieve success this year, and in years past,” said Craig Barnett, Scheme Designers President and founder.  “Our team of professional designers works closely with each customer to capture the owners vision for what they want their aircraft to be, for how they want their aircraft to reflect who they are.  And our design isn’t final until the owner is completely satisfied, regardless of how long or the number of iterations that might take.” It is not unusual for Craig to visit with the owner’s chosen paint shop while the scheme is being laid out to ensure that the application of the scheme matches the technical specifications exactly.   Grand Champion and Best-In-Show are not unusual monikers for aircraft sporting Scheme Designers livery – for example, nine of the 2014 AirVenture award winners carried Scheme Designers paint schemes.

In other post-AirVenture news, the Scheme Designers Scavenger Hunt was again a huge hit with AirVenture attendees.  Veteran Scavenger Hunter sister team, Amelia and Piper Stagg, aged 12 and 10 respectively, again took home this year’s grand prize for the second year in a row.  The whole Stagg family got into the spirit of the paint scheme hunt, making it an important part of their visit to AirVenture.  The sisters will take home two custom desktop models from Factory Direct Models as their grand prize.

About Scheme Designers
Since 1997, Scheme Designers has pioneered the business of exterior design for aircraft of all types, sizes, and models - airline fleets, business jets, piston aircraft, as well as helicopters.  Around the globe, there are over 11,000 unique aircraft wearing a Scheme Designers paint scheme.  Over half of the OEMs delivering new aircraft have worked with Scheme Designers to develop the exterior styling for their factory new models, setting the standard for the industry as a whole.  The Scheme Designers team of artists and designers work with each customer from inception through application of their scheme at the paint shop of their choice, and their job isn’t done until the paint scheme has been executed perfectly and their customer is completely satisfied.

You’ve seen those aircraft with the remarkable paint jobs…aircraft that look fast and lean just sitting on the ramp; aircraft that have panache and communicate the personality of the owner; aircraft that make you smile.  There’s a good chance that the paint scheme was designed by one company and their very specialized team of artists…Scheme Designers...Art Above it All.
