Cadence Aerospace Names Vivian Martinez-Wells as Director, Business Development & Contracts, Cadence Aerospace–Aerosystems
Anaheim, CA – November 26, 2018 – Cadence Aerospace, a provider of highly complex aerospace components and assemblies to commercial and defense customers, announces today the appointment of Vivian Martinez-Wells as Director, Business Development & Contracts, Cadence Aerospace–Aerosystems. With Centers of Excellence based in the U.S. and Mexico, Cadence Aerospace serves the world's leading manufacturers of aircraft, aerostructures, aeroequipment and other defense platforms.
Ms. Martinez-Wells joins the Company’s expanding Business Development team and reports to Robert Saia, Senior Vice President, Business Development for Cadence Aerospace. In her new role, she will collaborate on market expansion and brand projection strategies, working to identify new business opportunities, strengthen employee sales teams, and foster both new and existing customer relationships.

With a career spanning nearly 20 years in the aerospace and aviation industry, Ms. Martinez-Wells has successfully developed and implemented new business procurement strategies; robust sales platforms targeting global markets; innovative strategic sourcing and logistics initiatives; and marketing, customer service and contract programs designed to promote organizational growth. Her skills and talents across all of these disciplines, coupled with her engineering experience, are of immeasurable value to Cadence Aerospace as the Company continues strengthening its focus on achieving success with business partners through active engagement, aligned manufacturing and sourcing strategies.
Ms. Martinez-Wells comes to Cadence Aerospace after a five-year tenure with Barnes Aerospace, a global provider of complex fabricated and precision-machined components and assemblies for a broad range of industry Original-Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), having served the company most recently as Director, Contracts & Customer Service. In this capacity, she led a large team of contract managers and administrators across six domestic and international business units, developing and implementing process and standard work to drive commercial excellence. Ms. Martinez-Wells also was Sales Director, OEM Machining at Barnes Aerospace where she identified, quantified and developed strategies to capture domestic and international OEM markets. She joined the company in 2013 as Business Development Manager and successfully generated new business opportunities and strategic alliances that capitalized on the strengths and capabilities of each Barnes Aerospace division, all while meeting and exceeding the company’s growth objectives.
From 2001 to 2013, Ms. Martinez-Wells held positions of increasing responsibility at Pratt & Whitney, a subsidiary of United Technologies (UTC), an American aerospace manufacturer with global service operations. As Strategic Sourcing Manager, she managed a multi-million-dollar value stream through strategic sourcing initiatives in domestic and emerging markets. Ms. Martinez-Wells also was Logistics Program Manager, overseeing and implementing logistics plans for International Air Forces and leading supportability plans to ensure safety of flight, readiness, and reliable service of international customers. She began her career at Pratt & Whitney as a Mechanical Design Engineer and later served as a Test and Validation Engineer for jet engine exhaust components.
Ms. Martinez-Wells holds a Master of Public Administration—International Economic Policy and Administration from Columbia University in New York, a Master of Science in Management from Albertus Magnus College, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico. In conjunction, she has completed training programs including the UTC Quality System Associate Level Certification along with others in the areas of Quality Assurance, Negotiating Solutions, and Leveraging Style Differences for Team Leadership. Ms. Martinez-Wells also has received a number of industry awards and accolades throughout her career that are testament to her expert leadership and successes in business development.
