    • Artex offers 406 MHz ELTs as an upgrade from 121.5 ELTs. As of Feb. 1, 2009, COSPAS/SARSAT will terminate the satellite monitoring of the 121.5 MHz emergency frequency. From that date on, only digital signals transmitted from 406 MHz TSO C126 ELTs will be processed by the satellite system for search and rescue.
