Aircraft Propeller Service Renews as a Supplier to ATR’s Repair and Overhaul Activities

APS can provide support both to ATR operators covered under GMA (Global Maintenance Agreements) with the aircraft manufacturer or those without.

Aircraft Propeller Service, LLC, one of the world’s leading commercial propeller Maintenance Repair Organizations (MROs), announced that it has renewed an agreement to be a supplier to ATR’s Repair and Overhaul activities. ATR is the world’s leading manufacturer of turboprop aircraft, producing 50-seat ATR 42s and 70-seat ATR 72s. Based on this agreement, and a supplier to ATR, APS can provide support both to ATR operators covered under GMA (Global Maintenance Agreements) with the aircraft manufacturer or those without.

In conjunction with its license from UTC for all propeller MRO in the Americas and Asia, APS is now a supplier to ATR in both regions. If an ATR customer has a propeller MRO requirement, APS can repair the propeller on behalf of ATR at one of its MRO facilities. This renewed agreement, along with its expansion to Asia, comes as APS continues to gain broader recognition for its commitment to quality, high OEM-level support, reliability and cost control. The brand is fast-becoming synonymous with a strong focus on promoting the longevity of propeller components through its application of niche, high-tech repair techniques. OEMs like ATR, who are highly-selective regarding their alliances, value APS for its laser-focus on performance and customer satisfaction.

“We have enjoyed a historical relationship with ATR within the Americas, supported by an OEM license for that sector of the globe,” said APS Chief Revenue Officer, Dennis Santare. “We value the relationship as an opportunity and therefore hold nothing back. We leveraged a hard-won relationship with ATR in the U.S. and grew that relationship to support ATR’s other global aftermarket support centers in Singapore, Brazil and Toulouse. We remain totally engaged with ATR in order to ensure that they, in turn, are able to provide ATR operators in the Americas with best-in-class support. Our new position as an OEM-licensee for the Americas and all of Asia, coupled with our past relationship in the Americas with the ATR team, enabled us to win this new agreement.”

ATR Global Maintenance Agreement (GMA) is tailored to the requirements of each operator and includes a wide range of maintenance and availability services. GMA contribute to boosting airlines’ operations by reducing the inventory, maintenance costs and associated cash out and also help the airline to generate more revenue thanks to less operational interruptions and better aircraft performance. ATR’s programs of PBH (Power by Hour) are regarded in the industry as one of the most successful aftermarket support programs among all airframe OEM offerings.

As a result of its new agreement with APS, ATR derives gains from having a one-stop-shop for their propellers. The customers receive high velocity, high quality, reliable repair solutions deployed close to where they fly resulting in dramatically lower logistics costs, sometimes by over 50%. This has a positive effect on direct maintenance costs as well as on spare propeller component stocking requirements. Airlines are already feeling a positive impact from APS’ global deployment.

Santare added, “One added benefit we bring as an OEM licensee is direct access to OEM technical solutions which supplement our own field and shop services which we branded as Prop U. We also recently hired a former OEM engineer to further shape our technical support of this important, critical flight safety system.”
