EASA STC for Cirrus SR20 with the 3-blade MT-Propeller MTV-12

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received the the EASA STC 10055250 for the next generation 3-blade scimitar composite propeller MTV-12-D/188-59b on the Cirrus SR20. This installation ist already supplemental type certified by FAA STC SA03303CH (by Flight Resource LLC).

MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht announced, that the installation feature the following advantages:

- Reduced take-off distance by approx. 300ft (MTOW, SL, ISA conditions)

- Improved climb performance by approx. 5% (MTOW, SL, ISA conditions)

- Improved cruise performance by up to 3 kts depending on altitude and power

- Reduced weight by approx. 33 lbs compared to the original metal propellers

The MT-Propeller natural composite blades have no life limitation, and are repairable in case of an FOD.

They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on stainless steel leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.
