Blackhawk Becomes Exclusive Provider of MT 5-Blade Composite Propellers for Cessna Caravan
OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – July 23, 2018 – Blackhawk Modifications is proud to announce that MT Propeller has granted Blackhawk full aftermarket exclusivity to provide the FAA and EASA approved MT 5-blade composite propeller to PT6A-140 and -42A-powered Cessna Caravan’s including the Grand Caravan EX.
The MT propellers are made from natural composite materials which saves about 30 pounds of weight and significantly dampens vibration and reduces noise on the ground and in flight. This is the only propeller that meets the stringent European noise regulations and allows unrestricted operations for European operators. Other attributes include a nickel alloy leading edge for superior erosion protection of the blades, unlimited blade life and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) field-repairable blades, a 96.5-inch diameter allowing for increased ground clearance, and a simple bolt-on installation for reduced aircraft downtime. Optional Increased Gross Weight Kits are also approved with the MT 5-blade composite propeller.
“Operators have been universally impressed with the results when upgrading with MT Propeller,” said Jim Allmon, Blackhawk’s President and CEO. “The feedback on the improved performance and much quieter cockpit and cabin has supported what we have seen in flight testing. We are excited to bring another upgrade option to the market that further enhances performance, comfort, and operational ability.”
Blackhawk will provide the MT 5-blade composite propellers through their Authorized Dealer Network, which currently spans about 85 facilities worldwide. Contact Blackhawk today for pricing and availability.
