NYCO recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of its STD/SPC turbine oil Turbonycoil® 600.
Since its introduction in 1985, it has been a reliable reference for air forces and airlines all around the world for its ability to deliver high performance in the most various fields and conditions.
Approved by all major engine manufacturers (General Electric, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Rolls-Royce, Snecma, Klimov, Turbomeca and CFMI among others), Turbonycoil® 600 has logged over 60 million of hours operating in military and civil aircraft as well as helicopters. It is also used on stationary industrial applications fitted with aero-derivative gas turbines.
Qualified against MIL-PRF-23699 specification, Turbonycoil® 600 is a standard lubricating oil offering excellent non-coking performance as well as superior lubricity. It is fortified with carefully selected anti-oxidant, anti-wear and anti-corrosion additives.
“Flawless performance of Turbonycoil® 600 over the past 30 years has been a key evidence for our customers of the dedication of Nyco to deliver the finest technology and application support”, said Eric Piveteau, General Manager of NYCO.
He added “Turbonycoil® 640, the newest high performance capability (HPC) oil, designed to deliver exceptional cleanliness in hot engines, is now taking up the tough challenge of equaling Turbonycoil® 600 reputation of reliability for new generation engines.”
NYCO is actively innovating in each of its three markets. The company is now developing a new turbine oil for the next generation of military aircraft such as the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter that offers unique lubrication challenges due to the high operating temperature of its engine and the use of corrosion-resistant alloys enriched in chromium.
