Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineered parts for the global aerospace and defense industries, has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, pledging to support the Armed Forces Community with service-friendly policies and recruitment.
In signing this covenant, Ontic is pledging to formalize its support of Reservists, veterans and Forces families. With many Reservists and ex-Forces employees already in their workforce, Ontic is proud that as well as policies that support the Armed Forces community, they have many colleagues who know what it’s like to transition out of the military who can support Service leavers transitioning into civilian life.
Highlighting this, Eric Lopes, vice president and general manager of Ontic’s UK and Asia operations, said: “Signing the Armed Forces Covenant is a proud moment for us. Many of our colleagues are ex-military as well as having defence customers so I'm glad we’re making our workplace more consciously supportive of the Armed Forces Community.
“A big thank you to our HR team for identifying this opportunity to improve and putting the hard work in to ensure our pledge has real impact in our policies and procedures.”
In taking the Covenant pledge, Ontic is now recognized in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. Currently a bronze level employer, they are already taking action to put into place the last few criteria that will move them up to a silver level employer.
Ontic is currently recruiting for multiple roles at its Gloucester and Cheltenham sites following continued growth and encourage people from the Armed Forces Community to apply. Visit ontic.com/careers.
