Orlando, Florida…October 29, 2012…BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) continues to expand its global sales and service team with the recent addition of four personnel in its most active international markets.
“Our strategy is to grow with the markets and there has been significant growth throughout Asia Pacific, Africa and Latin America during the past few years,” commented Hugh McElroy, President, BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul Group. “We’re continuing to build both capability and capacity in these growth markets by adding expertise, people and facilities appropriate to the markets served and are being rewarded with tremendous acceptance of our services by customers.”
In Asia Pacific, ERO has added Luke Chiang to its Singapore sales team as Regional Sales Manager to augment its efforts in the region. Chiang will place special focus on sales to the region’s rapidly growing business and general aviation market. Chiang was most recently Director of Regional Sales at Jet Aviation Singapore. The ERO team in Singapore now includes a Territorial Director, three Regional Sales Managers and the Singapore Regional Turbine Center opened in February 2012.
Also for Asia Pacific, ERO has hired Wayne Thomson as Regional Field Service Engineer. Thomson spent the past 14 years at Pratt & Whitney Canada in Brisbane, Australia where he was Mobile Repair Lead Technician. He is certified by FAA, EASA, RAAF, and DGCA (Indonesia) as an inspector on most of the business, general aviation and regional airline engines used in Australasia. Thompson will work from Brisbane to support regional field service efforts integrated with ERO’s Singapore-based F1RST SUPPORT™ service.
In Africa, ERO has recruited Trevor Van Rooyen as Regional Sales Manager for sub-Saharan Africa. Van Rooyen is well known throughout the region for his strong technical background. He will be based out of Lanseria Airport in South Africa.
Van Rooyen will be joined by Grant Boast who has been appointed Regional Sales Manager and will double the coverage for sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to his appointment, Boast had been working for ERO for the past three years as a Field Service Representative and now will provide both sales and technical support to operators in the region. He will be based at Lanseria Airport, South Africa.
