Livermore, CA, May 5, 2015– Five Rivers Aviation breaks ground on a much anticipated new FBO and hangar complex for the Livermore Airport (KLVK). The initial phase of the project includes 25,000 sf of hangar space as well as a luxurious 6,000 sf FBO complete with pilot and charter support amenities. Financing for the $5 million project was secured with Scott Valley Bank which operates their own aircraft to support their geographically dispersed offices.
When complete, Five Rivers Aviation, partnering with EPIC Aviation, will also assume responsibility for the fuel concession from the City of Livermore. The City has been searching to privatize the FBO function for some years. Tireless efforts from the Airport Manager, Leander Hauri with support from Mayor John Marchand and the City Council led to the Five Rivers Aviation construction project.
“It’s nice when you can design and build an FBO from the ground up. We’re not limited by a 50 year old building that needs renovation, we’re building exactly the right facility” said Pete Sandhu, owner and president of Five Rivers Aviation.
As a full service FBO, Five Rivers Aviation will introduce the comprehensive line support and ground transportation and handling that have long been desired at Livermore. A luxurious lounge and conference and meeting rooms will be accessible to customers, as well as a comfortable pilot’s lounge featuring Boeing 747 first class seats with a theater room, snooze rooms, showers and flight planning resources. Charter companies will have access to dedicated catering kitchens with dishwashers and laundry facilities. Other features include a 5253 x 100 ft. runway, instant clearances, easy ground transportation access, departures and arrivals that do not have to be coordinated with other airports and VFR approaches when the rest of the bay area is fogged in.
Five Rivers Aviation will complement the brand new terminal building and full service restaurant opening next door and another hangar complex being built on the field. By this time next year, The Livermore Airport will be completely transformed.
