Southern Museum of Flight Celebrates Successful 50th Anniversary Gala
The Southern Museum of Flight hosted its 50th Anniversary Gala celebration on Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. at the HealthSouth hangar to benefit the museum’s educational programs. Heavy hors d’oeuvres were provided by B&A Warehouse, and the event supplied complimentary wine and beer selections, a silent auction and a live band.
The 50th Anniversary Gala proved to be a huge success, with more than 300 attendees and 27 sponsors including the City of Birmingham, Medical Properties Trust, ABC 33/40, HealthSouth Flight Department, The UPS Store-City Center, Alabama Public Television, Birmingham Mountain Radio, Advanced Computer Graphics, the Greater Birmingham Convention and Visitors Bureau, B&A Warehouse, Mayer Electric Supply Co., the Birmingham Flight Center, McWane, Inc., Reeve Electric and more.
The Southern Museum of Flight could not be more pleased with the results of the 50th Anniversary Gala, and Executive Director Dr. Brian J. Barsanti would like to extend a special thank you to all committee members, board members and volunteers who made this extraordinary night possible. “I would like to extend my heartfelt thank you to every single person who helped with this celebration,” he said. “With funds raised from the event, we will be able to grow the museum and further enhance our educational programming so that more students will have a chance to learn about aviation through the Southern Museum of Flight.”
