Air Service Hawaii Announces New FBO Terminal Project at Kona International Airport

The 6,900-square-foot terminal will complement a 38,000-square-foot hangar and is scheduled to be completed in fall 2019

HONOLULU, HI, (August 13, 2018)—Air Service Hawaii announced today that its construction plans of a large aircraft hangar and FBO Terminal at Kona International Airport were approved with a completion date of Fall 2019.

The 6,900 sq. ft. terminal complements a 38,000 sq. ft. hangar to serve the Big Island’s thriving, private luxury communities.

Air Service Hawaii President and CEO, Shaen Tarter, states, “After years of planning, we are extremely excited and proud to soon offer our new Kona facility aimed to surround our guests with the warmth and friendliness that is unique to the Hawaiian Islands and consistent with the quality of service our customers expect.”

Air Service Hawaii has selected Nicholson as the design/build firm for its new aircraft hangar and FBO terminal. Nicholson has served Hawaii’s Big Island since 1997. The new facility features the following first-class features and amenities:

* 38,000 sq. ft. hangar with a 28’ tall main door that accommodates Global 8000, Gulfstream 650, and other large cabin aircraft

* On-site catering service and cold storage for hold items

* 5,000 sq. ft. lounge with WIFI access, restrooms and showers

* A separate 1,900 sq. ft. secure terminal area

* Concierge services for crew and passengers

* Rental cars available on-site

* 24/7 video surveillance of the hangar complex and parking areas
