Skyborne Airline Academy Appoints Alistair Checketts as Chief Flying Instructor
Skyborne Airline Academy is announcing the appointment of Alistair Checketts, a vastly experienced pilot training professional, as its chief flying instructor.
Checketts is a stand-out aviation trainer with more than 14 years’ experience behind him, spending the majority of his career with CAE in Oxford where he held various roles, including chief flying instructor.
He will play a key part in developing and managing Skyborne’s airline training programmes, as well as overseeing the practical elements of the training academy’s innovative educational approach, including evaluating cadets’ performance in the company’s state-of-the-art Alsim AL42 simulator and Diamond training aircraft.
Ian Cooper, chief operating officer, Skyborne, says, “Alistair has an enormous amount of aviation training experience and understands the industry from the ground up. He brings esteemed credibility to the role and cadets can rest assured that they will be in the safest pair of hands as they embark on their flying careers.
“Our Progressive Continuous Learning (PCL) educational approach has been designed to ensure a cadet achieves a clear understanding by introducing increasingly complex real-world scenarios and I am confident that Alistair will deliver this to the highest standards.”
Checketts says, “It is incredibly exciting to be starting this new venture with Skyborne. The academy’s innovative and modern approach to pilot training is a real game-changer.
“The collective experience of Skyborne’s senior staff and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities makes the company perfectly poised to deliver the next generation of leading international airline pilots and I am extremely pleased to be a part of the team.”
