AV8 Partners, LP is proud to announce the first new world class FBO facility to be developed in the Hawaiian Islands in decades. After successfully securing a 55-year ground lease with the State of Hawaii, Kona Jet Center is currently under design development and planning for a ceremonial groundbreaking by the end of 2018. The new facility is being constructed on the south end of the Ellison Onizuka International Airport (KOA) in Kona, Hawaii.
Coming in late 2019, this new corporate aviation complex will offer the only private general aviation ramp area on the airport. It will also include a 7,000 sq. ft. executive terminal, two large hangar structures and a state-of-the-art 50,000-gallon fuel storage facility. According to Matthew Clayton, one of the principals in AV8 Partners, "our unprecedented facilities, attention to detail and professional staff dedicated to customer services will be the new standard of aloha spirit in the islands."
- Executive Terminal - This large open concept executive terminal facility will have a distinctly Hawaiian feel with a 40-foot high clerestory-style atrium. This will be the most modern facility on the islands, but with a true spirit of aloha for all who enter the terminal. Designed to support passengers and flight crews who just completed, or are about to embark on, a long flight to or from this oasis in the middle of the Pacific, the terminal will have all the amenities expected in today's general aviation terminals including comfortable waiting areas, large plush restrooms, conference areas and technology to meet all the needs of travelers, including high-speed wireless connectivity on the ramp.
- Hangars and Ramp - The environmentally-sensitive hangar structures will be designed to the highest standards of the Hawaiian building codes with regard to wind and storms and be capable of handling the largest corporate aircraft, including Gulfstream 650 and Global 8000 size aircraft. The ramp pavement will support all corporate aircraft, as well as commercial size aircraft such as the B-737-800 and Airbus A-319.
- Services - Kona Jet Center will employ local customer service specialists who will be fully trained in aviation-adapted Ritz Carlton level personal service. Safety and security training will also include NATA Safety 1st education programs.
- Avfuel - Kona Jet Center has selected Avfuel to be the provider of fuel products and contract fuel marketing programs. Avfuel fuel quality control procedures and customer services programs will also be utilized.
