FBO RIGA business aviation center at Riga International Airport, Latvia, has gained the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) Stage II accreditation, as the company has successfully passed the second audit of International Business Aviation Council (IBAC). FBO RIGA is the first and the only holder of this certificate in the Baltic States.
Commenting this achievement, Roman Starkov, co-owner of FBO RIGA, said: “We are proud to earn IS-BAH Stage II accreditation. This international recognition was achieved by the great effort of the whole team which is committed to the highest level of safety for ground handling operations. A rigorous audit by IBAC confirmed that FBO RIGA fulfills all the requirements for business aviation safety and in many respects exceeds what is required by mandatory documents”.
IS-BAH is the global industry standard for business aviation ground handlers developed by International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) in cooperation with National Air Transport Association (NATA). It is a set of industry best practices that features at its core a safety management system. IS-BAH meets ICAO requirements and global practices, including the safety management system (SMS) requirements.
As of today, 162 organizations have earned IS-BAH registration worldwide, with 68 companies achieving Stage II, and only two organizations accredited by Stage III. In Europe, just over 50 FBOs hold IS-BAH certificate, and less than 20 organizations have achieved Stage II. Ultimately, FBO RIGA is recognized as one of the most professional FBOs in the world.
“Safety is our absolute priority, it is the basis of our work. We are proud to have received another international recognition of FBO RIGA professionalism. Our customers, partners, passengers and crews can be confident about top-notch services at our business aviation center”, said Leonid Gorodnitski, co-owner of FBO RIGA.
FBO RIGA earned IS-BAH Stage I registration in 2017 becoming the first holder of the certificate in the Baltic States.
