Banyan Air Service announces the promotion of Jon Tonko to vice president of FBO Services. Tonko will continue to oversee the daily operations of the Customer Support Department and Banyan Pilot Shop. He also manages hangar, leasing, and business development of Banyan's 85-acre complex, which includes 250,000 sq. ft. of hangars and office. In this role, he will serve on the executive committee, and his responsibilities will be expanded to include strategic direction and support the company’s growth at the executive level, including financial responsibilities such as budgeting, pricing of services, and purchasing.
“Jon puts forth whatever effort is needed to get the job done. His quality and attention to detail has ensured productivity,” commented Don Campion, president and CEO of Banyan Air Service.
Tonko has more than 30 years of experience in the business aviation industry and has worked in line service at multiple FBO facilities around the nation. As a Minnesota native, Jon began his aviation career as the line service technician at North Country Aviation in Duluth.
Since joining the Banyan team in 2005 as a line service manager, Tonko has led and supported the team in building customer loyalty through service excellence in a work environment where the teammates enjoy their work because they have accepted responsibility for the success of Banyan. Tonko has developed great relationships with not only hundreds of customers but with the FXE Airport Administration and Operations staff, the Control Tower staff, Broward Sheriff’s Office, and those who work at the FXE Customs and Border Patrol facility.
