Revv Aviation is approaching airport fixed-base operator (FBO) services in a new way.
“No one else is doing what they're doing,” said Jack Pelton, former CEO of Cessna Aircraft Company and current chairman and CEO of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). “I see Revv single-handedly committed to reviving general aviation.”
Revv is building a network of FBOs that is connecting small- to mid-sized cities that offer a full range of services, from flight training, maintenance, charter, avionics, fueling and storage.
The rapidly expanding Revv family already operates seven FBOs in nine locations: Aurora and Schaumburg, Ill.; Janesville, Wis.; Council Bluffs, Davenport, Muscatine, Iowa, and Huron, S.D. Revv also operates flight schools in Sioux City, Iowa, and Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Neb.
Revv is now expanding to Quad Cities International Airport in Moline, Ill., (MLI) where it will operate a flight school, a maintenance facility and offer charter flights.
Benjamin Leischner, A.A.E., executive director at the Quad Cities International Airport, said, “I’ve been observing Revv over the past two years and this is an ideal company to continue Moline’s legacy of supporting general aviation. Their passion for aviation is evident in everything they do. Revv will pursue aggressive development of our existing general aviation plans on the airfield.”
Guy Lieser, president and CEO of Revv, explains: "Imagine a world where our towns are connected, not just by roads but also by airways. As we introduce aviation to more people across America's Heartland, we hope to bring the wonder of flight to communities, business leaders, families, schools and city developers. Airports are like the exit ramp on the highway, and if we attract more flights to land at our FBOs, refuel, and get aircraft maintained, the whole town and region benefit. As a part of the CL Enterprises group of companies we are more than an FBO at the local airport; we are a part of the community and participate, wherever possible, in economic development initiatives.
"To achieve its vision, Revv is striving to attract the very best talent. "Great people are at the heart of every business, and our culture is unique and fun! Every day at the office is like EAA AirVenture – awe, wonder and soaring planes, and people telling stories. We are always looking to hire pilots for charter, instructors for the flight school and mechanics and technicians for our maintenance and avionics shops, who share that passion. We also are establishing apprenticeship programs in cooperation with community colleges near our airports, where young high school graduates will be fully trained on the job while also attending college free of cost.”
Joel Hirst, senior vice president of sales for Avfuel Corporation adds, "At Avfuel, we've always said that the heart of the industry is connectivity. Revv Aviation's approach to business growth is one that heightens connectivity in key locations throughout the Midwest and expands opportunities within traditionally under-served communities. We're proud to partner with Revv and help support its vision of connectivity.”
Hinesh Patel, president of CL Enterprises , the family owned holding company for Revv Aviation, said, “Revv is both a new and old company. We are setting out to achieve something different within the category – we don’t want to be another expensive gas station – and we are drawing on the experience and knowledge of the pioneers who created these FBOs originally. We want to provide a good home for the companies they created, share their stories, share our love of aviation with the communities we serve, and help revitalize airports and downtowns. It's a bold and ambitious plan and we invite anyone who shares our passion to get in touch and become part of the story."
