Sun Air Jets and Aeroplex Group Partners Celebrate Much-Anticipated Grand Opening of Additional Hangars at KVNY
Sun Air Jets welcomed the public to their newest hangar space at Van Nuys Airport with a large grand opening event on September 23, 2022.
Held in conjunction with Aeroplex Group Partners, who helped secure the location, the event welcomed approximately 150 guests to join the Sun Air Jets and Aeroplex teams in their celebration. Invited guests included airport executives, industry colleagues, city employees and leadership, and Sun Air Jets associates from both locations.
The new space has been open for business since late 2021, but the celebration was delayed due to the Covid pandemic. Guests who came out to celebrate the occasion were welcomed with a glass of champagne and were greeted by a stunning array of white floral arrangements, elegant white leather seating, custom-themed cocktails like the “Sun Air Jets Sunrise” and the “Sky’s the Limit” and, of course, sleek private jets on display! This new facility more than doubles the size of Sun Air Jets’ footprint of available space and presence in Van Nuys. The two adjoining hangars that each have attached private terminal and office facilities are located in the northwest corner of Van Nuys Airport.
“We’re thrilled to be able to showcase our newest expansion at the Van Nuys airport, adding an additional 66,000 square feet of hangar space bringing our total footprint at VNY to over 100,000 square feet.”, says Justin Sherrill, Director of Aircraft Management. “Having a space of this size makes Sun Air Jets one of the largest hangar facilities in Van Nuys, and sets us up for continued expansion of our managed fleet and services at one of the busiest private aviation airports in the world. The design of the facility is based on our clients’ needs, with a focus on privacy and ease of access for aircraft owners and passengers to be able to drive right up to their aircraft via a private gate out of sight of the general public. Both hangars can accommodate aircraft as large as a Global 7500, and our Part 145 repair station located on site performs maintenance on a variety of aircraft ranging from Citations to Gulfstreams.”
Designed to offer a superior level of luxury and sophistication, the new Van Nuys facilities offer private offices, lounges, conference meeting rooms, gated guest parking, and numerous other amenities necessary to meet today’s evolving business aviation needs. The new facility also meets the state’s strict environmental green building standards and includes a solar roof-top feed-in tariff system that will assist the Los Angeles World Airports’ (LAWA) environmentally sustainable energy program.
The additional hangars and terminal facility are now open and available for managed aircraft clients
