Avfuel Furthers Sustainability Commitment With Enhanced Certification
As Avfuel heads to Geneva to participate in a sustainably-focused EBACE, the fuel supplier announces its enhanced status as a Green Aviation Business – Tier 2 under NATA’s Sustainability Standard for Aviation Businesses.
The milestone marks the third consecutive year Avfuel has achieved a sustainability designation under the standard, but the first year it has elevated to the second tier. In doing so, the leading independent fuel supplier demonstrates its commitment to environmentally friendly operations at its Ann Arbor, Michigan, headquarters.
Marci Ammerman, vice president of marketing at Avfuel, said, “The enhancement of our NATA Sustainability Standard Certificate underscores our unwavering commitment to preserving our planet. Renewing the certification each year is an important opportunity to reflect on our progress and reinforce our environmental commitment.”
As part of the tier-two certification process, the Avfuel team conducted a thorough assessment of its carbon footprint and sustainable processes. It required a reduction in Avfuel’s baseline carbon footprint, submittal of its various environmental and sustainable policies, and implementation of environmentally responsible business practices.
Avfuel has received certification every year since the program’s inception, leading the industry as the only certified fuel supplier. Joining Avfuel on the list is a number of its branded FBO partners.
“We congratulate our certified branded FBO partners: Carlsbad Jet Center, Duncan Aviation, Heritage Aviation, Million Air Dallas and Sonoma Jet Center,” said Ammerman. “We couldn’t be prouder to partner with such sustainably-minded FBOs.”
In addition to maintaining its NATA Sustainability Standard Certification, Avfuel continues to offset carbon emissions from its annual operations, including scope 1 and 2 activities. The latest offset focused on funding domestic projects with U.S.-based carbon credits. Avfuel also offers its customers support in developing and realizing their own sustainability goals with its recently-launched program, AvfuelZero (Avfuel.com/Zero). This program utilizes a range of tactics to reduce carbon emissions, including voluntary carbon offsetting, sustainable aviation fuel, and book and claim transactions for SAF.
Those in Geneva for EBACE 2024 are encouraged to visit Avfuel in stand G72 to learn more about its environmental practices and sustainability programs. Avfuel’s experts from its fuel sales, fuel supply, marketing, sustainability and executive teams are in attendance to connect operators with the global solutions they require.
Joining Avfuel in stand G72 are branded FBO partners Avflight, Banyan Air Service, Duncan Aviation, Fargo Jet Center/Premier Jet Center and Sheltair. Avfuel and Duncan will co-host an in-stand Champagne Mingle on Wednesday, 29 May, from 2 – 4 p.m. The Avfuel exhibit is also fueling attendees all week with a complementary coffee bar sponsored by Avfuel Network FBO partner, Castle & Cooke Aviation.
