Avfuel Corporation, the leading independent supplier of aviation fuel and services, is pleased to present its long-time fueling partner and customer, Bode Aero Services, with its inaugural Communities Soar Award.

The award, given to an Avfuel-branded fixed base operator (FBO) that provides exemplary service to its region, highlights Bode Aero’s outstanding community partnership and commitment to its parent airport.

“Bode Aero is an exceptional steward of the Albuquerque community and the aviators within it,” said Mark Haynes, vice president of sales for Avfuel. “We are honored to present Bode Aero with the first Communities Soar Award and look forward to a continued partnership through which the aviation industry—local and beyond—benefits from Bode Aero’s deep-rooted sense of community.”

Located at Double Eagle II Airport (KAEG) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bode Aero Services has been an Avfuel-branded FBO since 2007 and has provided essential services to the airport's flight operations—including fuel, ground handling, military support, concierge services and hangar space—since 2002.

As a pillar of Albuquerque’s aviation community, the FBO consistently donates its facilities and hangar space in support of various local events, most notably numerous EAA Young Eagles events and the annual EAA Land of Enchantment Fly-In, which raises funds for EAA Chapter 179. In presentation of the Communities Soar Award, Avfuel has chosen to support the 2024 Land of Enchantment event (held on September 21) by making a fuel donation in Bode Aero’s honor.

Beyond events and facilities, Bode Aero supports EAA by providing winter maintenance for its infamous Ford Tri-Motor.

Bode Aero Services is also known for providing routine military aircraft training support, and advancing pilot career paths through an expanded flight school and United States Air Force career day for local high school students.

To further its commitment to safety, Bode Aero recently completed construction of a state-of-the-art fuel farm—a turn-key fuel storage system featuring upgraded safety regulations. The new system features double wall protection from leaks, fireguard safety and rust protection. Increased storage capacity provides consistent fuel supply and market stability for its customers, attracting and retaining business flying into the Albuquerque region in support of its economy.

“Giving back to our community is paramount to Bode Aero’s operations,” said Tim Gorman, vice president and CFO of Bode Aero Services. “For more than 20 years, we have prioritized supporting our military community, providing assistance to students pursuing aviation careers and recognizing the need for safety in our operations. We are proud to be a strong partner for our aviation community.”

In the future, Bode Aero plans to construct a large bay storage hangar with capacity for modern corporate jets; expand its aviation training program for non-flying career development and education, including Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) and Aviation Management certifications; and offer industrial Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) support, training and service.

Situated in the beautiful Southern Rockies, its unique location provides easy access to sightseeing tours and outdoor adventures. The FBO offers flight training and aircraft rental in addition to its comprehensive ground services. Additionally, Bode Aero offers various discounts and incentives for its customers: lucrative AVTRIP rewards, fuel savings with Avfuel Contract Fuel, fuel discounts for War Birds, volume discounts for Jet-A fuel and one night of free parking with any fuel purchase.
