In addition to the the 36th IATA Ground Handling Conference (IGHC) program, industry members have the opportunity to take part in workshops coinciding with the event, hosted by Icelandair in Reykjavík, Iceland.

“Complementing the symposium are workshops, including a technical session to update ground handling service providers on the latest changes to the IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) program, discussing its impact on their accreditation and registration processes,” IATA officials note. “This will provide a valuable opportunity for attendees to stay informed about industry standards and ensure compliance with new guidelines. Additionally, a workshop on airlines’ ground operations will discuss and brainstorm the challenges and solutions of today’s complex ground handling industry.”

Before the IGHC officially kicks off on May 7, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) will host Airlines’ Day on Monday, May 6.

A Ground Operations Working Group (GOG) meeting will take place in the morning. This event is only open to those invited. After lunch a workshop titled Spotlight on Airlines’ Ground Operations will be led by IATA representatives. Separate registration is required to take part in this workshop. An invite only Ground Handling Partnership Networking Cocktail Reception will take place on Monday evening.

A workshop titled Partnering with Airports is Key for Sustainable Ground Operations will be held in afternoon on Tuesday, May 7 while a work workshop titled ISAGO in 2025 and Beyond, What’s in it for Me? will take place in the afternoon of Thursday, May 9. Both of these workshops also require separate registration.
