Gazpromneft-Aero Becomes a Member of Joint Inspection Group Ltd
Gazpromneft-Aero, the aviation fuel business operator of Gazpromneft, has become the first Russian company to join Joint Inspection Group Ltd (JIG), the world-leading organization for the development of aviation fuel supply standards covering the entire supply chain for aviation fuels from refinery to wing-tip. The JIG standards are followed by over 120 member organizations operating at more than 2,500 airports and supply & distribution locations in over 100 countries globally.
Today over 40 percent of jet fuel worldwide is supplied in accordance with the JIG standards. Major oil companies and fuel suppliers including Total, BP, Shell, CNAF, Eni as well as aircraft refueling operators are members of the organization. In addition to developing industry standards, JIG trains inspectors to carry out jet fuel infrastructure audits at airports in compliance with the JIG Standards.
Gazpromneft-Aero is the leader of the Russian jet fuel market by volume of retail sales. The company’s technical policy is compliant with the Russian jet fuel supply requirements as well as IATA and JIG’s international standards. Gazpromneft-Aero is rapidly introducing computerized process control and emergency shut down systems together with control recording documentation at its facilities in compliance with international standards.
