Swissport Boosts Service At Gatwick

Local union official, however, says the reason for baggage delays is a 'systemic problem caused by low-cost operation.'

Swissport insisted there would be no repeat of problems with passengers’ bags at Gatwick over this bank holiday weekend, but a union official warned the airport’s problems with baggage handling were “systemic”.

Media uproar over baggage delays in late July was followed by Monarch ending its contract with Swissport and British Airways threatening to drop the firm, one of three ground-handlers at the airport.
