Air India Employees Oppose Decision on Ground Handling Duties

Air India employees are voicing opposition to Air India SATS (AISATS) taking over ground handling duties at Kannur International Airport.
According to a report by the Times of India, the Air Corporations Employees' Union has written to the chairman of Air India opposing the move citing revenue lossed after the group took over ground handling functions at Thiruvananthapuram, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Mangaluru and Hyderabad.
"By handing over the same to AISATS, Air India not only lost the revenue but in addition it is paying huge amount by way of handling charges for its flights to AISATS," president of ACEU, New Delhi C Udayashankar said, according to the TOI report.
