Menzies Aviation has acquired Farnair Handling from ASL Aviation Group, according to multiple reports.
Based at Budapest Airport, Farnair is the cargo handling subsidiary of ASL, providing cargo warehouse services as well as ramp handling.
According to CH-Aviation, Menzies Aviation is one of four passenger handlers at Budapest. However, until the acquisition Menzies did not have a cargo handling unit.
Air Cargo News reported that aircraft handling was a non-core business in the ASL Group. The report stated Farnair Handling was part of ASL’s acquisition of the Farnair Group in December 2014. While successful, it was the only handling company in ASL’s global portfolio.
