Swissport Names Regional CEOs

New leadership for Belgium and Geneva operations.

Swissport International Ltd., leading provider of ground and cargo services to the aviation sector, announced that Pieter Van den Nieuwenhuizen takes over responsibility as new CEO of Swissport Belgium N.V. and appointed Jean-Luc Payot as new CEO Swissport Geneva.

Van den Nieuwenhuizen succeeds Marcel Buelens, who decided to step down from his position as CEO at the end of August to take up new challenges outside of Swissport.

Prior to his new assignment at Swissport Belgium N.V. Pieter Van den Nieuwenhuizen was leading several divisions of G4S Belgium as Managing Director and General Manager from 2002 onwards. Before he was working for TYCO - ADT since 1986 and held various senior management roles including Managing Director of ADT Security Services Netherlands.

Adrian Melliger, Senior Vice President Ground Handling Europe South, says: "We believe that Pieter´s background in the service industry as well as in the Belgian market will contribute to the success of our company. His managerial experience will support our endeavour to further improve our position and relationship to our business partners, including customers, TBAC and the social partners."

Payot will take over responsibility as CEO at Swissport Geneva from Michel Glorieux, who left the company at the end of August to pursue new challenges outside the company.

Jean-Luc Payot already has worked for Swissport before, from 1993 to 2001, at last as General Manager and VP Business Development Swissport France and CEO Executive Aviation. Before returning to Swissport now, Jean-Luc Payot since 2004 has owned the position Managing Director of Bell Switzerland.
