New Training Organization for Aviation Ground Service Providers

Airport Services Association board announces the launch of ASA Academy.

During their board meeting in Toronto (Canada) on May 15th, 2016 the board of the Airport Services Association (asa) agreed to set up a joint venture company known as ASA Services Ltd with the Swiss company 2assistU Ltd. ASA Services Ltd will be based in Brugg / Zurich (Switzerland) and will offer management training globally for ground service providers under the brand of the ASA Academy.

The Airport Services Association (asa) is the global association of ground service companies and represents the interests of their members. In order to satisfy training needs and to add even more value to members, the ASA Board agreed to launch the ASA Academy. The ASA Academy (www.asaacademy.aero) will be managed and led by ASA Services Ltd.

The board of directors selected Reto Gasser of 2assistU Ltd as Managing Director of ASA Services Ltd. Reto Gasser has held the position of managing partner of 2assistU Ltd since 2015 and has a broad range of experience within aviation.

As member of the executive board with dnata Switzerland, he was responsible for safety, security, quality and compliance and before joining dnata, he was engaged as inspector for the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation and also previously held management functions within several airlines.

As from September 2016, ASA Academy will start providing professional training at selected locations in Bangkok, Istanbul, Miami and Brugg / Zurich. Initial courses in the form of blended learning on Management, Training, Safety, Security, Quality and Crisis Management can be booked immediately (www.asaacademy.aero).
