Aerodom Picks Samsic for Ground Handling Services at Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata

After an international bidding process with the participation of experts in airport services from around the world, Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI, SA (Aerodom), part of VINCI Airports, announced the successful transition from ground services to aircraft (ground handling) to the Samsic Assistance group for the José Francisco Peña Gómez (AILA) international airports in Santo Domingo and Gregorio Luperón (AIGL) in Puerto Plata.

The new supplier company, Samsic Assistance, is a company of global reach certified by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) that has the capacity to guarantee the quality required by international standards and complies with the Dominican requirements established by the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, IDAC.

Thanks to the efforts of the company, suppliers, airlines and the authorities, it was possible to carry out the transition process without affecting the operations or compromising the quality of the service received by thousands of passengers who pass through the AILA and AIGL airports each month. In particular, a recognition to the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, IDAC, who were watching over the compliance with local regulations and were an important piece in this transition.

The aircraft assistance services at the AILA and AIGL airports provided by Samsic Assistance cover all the tasks required by an aircraft from the moment it lands until its subsequent departure, including loading and unloading of luggage, chocks, coordination tasks and towing of the aircraft from the aircraft. boarding gate to the taxiway, among others.

Samsic Assistance has offered these services in the most important airports in France such as Charles de Gaulle and Orly, as well as other high traffic airports around the world. In the Caribbean area, they offer their services at Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe), Fort-de-France (Martinique) and other airports.
