WFS Wins Baggage Handling Contract for Air France
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has won a three-year contract to provide baggage handling services for Air France at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The agreement covers the biggest part of the baggage flow process at the airline’s Terminal 2 hub and will see the WFS ground handling team processing tens of millions of passenger bags per annum. It commences in October 2018.
Air France has also extended another existing baggage contract with WFS at Roissy for an additional two years to Q4 2021, increasing an agreement first awarded to WFS 20 years ago.
WFS operates its biggest baggage handling operation in Paris, where it is headquartered. On behalf of Air France, it is responsible for handling in the baggage sorting area, preparing baggage for the airline’s flights, delivery to the aircraft, and managing connecting bags to ensure they reach their next flights on-time.
Will Facey, EVP Ground Handling Europe Middle East Africa & Asia (EMEAA) at WFS, stated: “As we look to grow our ground handling business at airports around the world, the robustness and flexibility of our portfolio of services at Paris CDG, as well as our team’s willingness to continuously improve our processes, is a great demonstration of the expertise we can offer. These new contracts with Air France reflect the confidence our major customers at CDG have in our people and the service levels they consistently deliver as well as our ability to manage such a complex bag flow at a major hub airport.”
