Menzies Aviation Indonesia has recently commenced its first ground handling and freighter operations at Jakarta Airport (CGK) for My Indo Airlines.

The airline schedules 12 flights per week from CGK to Singapore (SIN) and two other Indonesian airports: Balikpapan Sepinnggan Airport (BPN) and General Ahmad Yani International Airport (SRG).

A support team from Menzies Australia assisted the local team for eight weeks of preparation for the start of operations. This included high level training for new staff, ensuring compliance with Menzies standards and giving the new team the tools to deliver excellence from the very beginning.

Richard Bonner, RVP North West Australia, said: “It was a pleasure to join our Joint Venture team in Jakarta to oversee the successful start of operations. The team showed great passion to learn the Menzies way, and this shows through their excellent work now operations have begun. My personal thanks to the Management team and all staff in Indonesia for making the start up a great success. We look forward to expanding our portfolio and growing our new business in Jakarta and throughout the region.”
