IndiGo Selects Asia Airfreight Terminal to Handle Cargo
IndiGo has selected Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT) as its cargo handler in Hong Kong. It was founded in 2006 as a low-cost airline headquartered in Gurgaon, India. It has grown very quickly since then and is currently the largest Indian airline in terms of passenger numbers carried and fleet size.
IndiGo launched a seven times weekly A320 passenger flight between Bengaluru (formally known as Bangalore) and Hong Kong on Dec. 11, 2018. Bengaluru is one of the fastest growing cities located in the southwest state of Karnataka in India. Known as the ‘Silicon Valley of India’, the city is the nation’s centre for information technology. The commencement of this air service further strengthens economic and trade ties, as well as provides a capacity boost for business and leisure visitors between India and Hong Kong.
Mr. Kuah Boon Kiam, General Manager of AAT, says, “We warmly welcome IndiGo to Hong Kong and to AAT. Our companies have a lot in common with our mutual focus on reliability and value to the customer. Over the years, AAT has built up a strong reputation for handling airlines from India, and we will extend our fullest cooperation to IndiGo as they build up their cargo business in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region.”
