On Tuesday, Jan. 19, Intercargo assisted the first Aeroméxico flight to transport vaccines produced by Oxford-AstraZeneca. And on Thursday, Jan. 28, Intercargo made a special operation regarding the Sputnik V vaccine transportation, using a plane from the state company Boliviana de Aviación to La Paz.
For this special operation, Intercargo used its recently incorporated Cool Dollies.
This equipment is unique in Argentina and it will be useful as a part of the necessary logistics to transport the COVID-19 vaccines, keeping the cold chain and avoiding abrupt climate changes when that sanitary equipment is uploaded or downloaded from airplanes.
Intercargo removed the dollies’ rollers and locks, covering that area with welded sheeting to achieve a greater cold conservation. At the top, Intercargo made a thermal panel structure and put inside and outside polyurethane insulation. They are cooled with electric equipment.
This equipment considering three ranges: Frozen: -14° to -18°; Cold: 2° to 25°; and Intermedium: 15° to 25°.
For the time being, the vaccines in Argentina are stocked between 2° and 8°.
The Training and Operational Security departments of Intercargo has been training staff on how to manage these Cool Dollies.
The commitment and professionalism of Intercargo's teamwork got a successful result in this operation, which was carried out considering all security requirements in due time and manner.
