ABM Supports Initiative to Help Talent Return to the UK Aviation Industry
ABM, one of the UK’s leading providers of aviation services, has pledged its support to the Aviation Skills Retention Platform (ASRP), a platform developed by Talent Retention Solutions (TRS) to help UK aviation industry talent to showcase their experience and expertise, while helping businesses find the skills they need.
Funded by the government, TRS is an independent employer-led program and is dedicated to supporting the attraction, development and retention of people and skills in UK aviation, construction, manufacturing, engineering, and technology.
ABM joins an impressive line-up of support, including the Ministry of Defence, Heathrow Airport and Airbus. Together the group of organizations will support the industry with skills retention, redeployment and recruitment, as well as offering development opportunities across the aviation sector, as it looks to recover from the impact of the past year.
Antony Marke, group managing director at ABM Aviation, says: “Aviation has been one of the hardest hit industries during the global pandemic. We are now focused on supporting the recovery of the UK economy and the aviation sector, in partnership with key stakeholders. We look forward to collaborating with our peers to get the industry flying again.”
The ASRP will be used to support employees who are "at-risk" of losing their jobs or have been made redundant through the impact of COVID-19. The ASRP will be a support platform for those workers to register their details, skills and CVs; once registered they can apply for jobs advertised on the system and be contacted by recruiting employers within the industry or industries allied to the sector with similar skill needs.
Mark Gregory, HR Director at ABM, says: “This industry has lost a large pool of talent over the past 12 months and we want to do everything we can to get those people back into work in aviation roles. This means everyone from customer services to ground handlers.
“As we ourselves look to reshape and resize our business we want to share our vacancies and give talented individuals an opportunity to connect with ABM; aiding redeployment of talent in the industry and retaining invaluable skills.”
