Skytanking UK Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of PrimeFlight Aviation Services, Inc., has acquired the entire shareholding of Star Handling Limited from Esken. While parent company PrimeFlight Aviation Services provides ground handling services throughout North America, this will be Skytanking’s entry into ground handling.
“We are excited to welcome the ground handling expertise of the Star Handling team into the Skytanking and PrimeFlight network, and we look forward to working together to expand our global ground handling footprint,” Amir Ibrahim, EVP for Skytanking, explained. “Craig Denmark and the rest of the team share our commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer service, making them an ideal fit as we look to diversify our service network.
Star Handling provides ground handling, passenger services, and airside logistics support at Manchester and London Stansted airports through the support of more than 200 employees. Esken will continue to operate its ground handling services at London Southend Airport. Skytanking provides a full range of aviation fueling services including into-plane fueling, aviation fuel storage, hydrant management, and engineering support. The company currently serves its airline, airport, and oil company customers at 89 airports in 14 countries. PrimeFlight Aviation Services, Skytanking’s parent company, is an aviation services provider with operations throughout North America, supporting its customers with a wide range of services including ground handling, cargo handling, deicing, GSE maintenance, fueling, and passenger services.
“Supported by the experience of the corporate team of our parent company, along with our global Skytanking footprint, we are confident that this acquisition will give us a strong foundation to build an industry-leading ground handling service network in support of our customers,” Amir added.
Star Handling will continue to operate under its current brand during the integration process but will ultimately operate under the Skytanking brand.
