Gazpromneft-Aero, the aviation fuel operator of Gazprom Neft, has restarted the refueling of international flights in Egyptian resort cities including Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada under a new agreement with Misr Petroleum, the Egyptian national fuel supplier.
The new deal builds on a long-term partnership with Misr Petroleum dating back to 2009. During the partnership, the total volume of aviation fuel supplies for servicing Russian and foreign airlines’ flights at eight international airports in Egypt has exceeded 180 thousand tons.
Vladimir Yegorov, Gazpromneft-Aero’s CEO, says: “We look forward to the gradual recovery of international air traffic and are ready to support ‘into-wing’ refueling of our partners' flights, both in Russia and abroad. In Q1 2021, Gazpromneft-Aero restarted the servicing of Russian airlines in the United Arab Emirates and Cyprus. With the resumption of flights to popular Egyptian resorts, we expect an increase in passenger traffic as well as in the number of flights from Russia in the coming months.”
