The role of regional airports in global logistics was a hot topic of discussion at the World Cargo Summit 2025, held in Ostend, Belgium, Jan. 27-29. Opening the event was Eric Dumas, CEO of Ostend-Bruges Airport, who spoke of the shift in industry focus away from the dominance of major hubs to the agility, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of alternative cargo gateways.
