Universal Aviation Spain – Madrid, based at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (LEMD), has earned Stage 1 accreditation under the International Standard for Business Aviation Handling (IS-BAH).
“Spain is experiencing record traffic even exceeding pre-pandemic levels at some destinations. We are aggressively growing our network to enhance service and safety standards throughout the country,” said Gonzalo Barona Jr., country manager, Universal Aviation Spain. “Earning IS-BAH accreditation at our Spain headquarters in Madrid demonstrates that we are committed not just to meeting the pent-up demand but doing so at the highest levels of safety and service. We are committed to working toward IS-BAH accreditation at all of our locations.”
The International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) is a set of global industry best practices for business aviation ground handlers, which features at its core a safety management system (SMS). The IS-BAH follows the structure of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) Program and incorporates the NATA Safety 1st Ground Audit Program. IS-BAH is the global industry standard for handlers and operators around the world to meet the coming SMS requirements from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Universal Aviation Spain added six ground handling locations in southern Spain in January 2022.
