Asia Airfreight Terminal Named Airfreight Service Provider of the Year at HKCT Business Awards
Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT), a subsidiary of SATS Ltd, is honored to receive the prestigious “Airfreight Services Provider of the Year” award from Hong Kong Commercial Times Business Awards 2024.
The Hong Kong Commercial Times (HKCT) is a well-known media platform that annually recognizes and honors exceptional enterprises in the industry. The Airfreight Services Provider of the Year award affirms AAT's efforts and achievements over the year through a review of the company's corporate accomplishments, market competitiveness, branding and professionalism.
Accepting the award in the presence of Hong Kong senior business leaders, AAT Chief Executive Mike Chew said, “It is a wonderful honor to be recognized with this award because it affirms our dedicated team in the airfreight business. As air travel continues to recover in Hong Kong, AAT will be committed to grow and maintain its investments in the business. This recognition also validates our ongoing efforts to improve business efficiency and service offerings."
Since 1998, AAT has a strong commitment to excellence as an air cargo terminal operator. With two state-of-the-art terminals covering 166,000 sq. m. warehouse area for an annual cargo handling capacity of 1.5 million tonnes, AAT offers exceptional cargo handling and logistics services to over 50 international airlines.
AAT's facilities accommodate perishables, multi-temperature cargo, dangerous goods, livestock and high-value air cargo, ensuring efficient flow of goods.
Going beyond the core business offerings of an air cargo terminal operator, AAT also offers personalized and a customizable range of extended logistics services to the shipping public and airline customers via its logistics arm, Asia Airfreight Services (AAS) to enhance customer experience.
The AAS services include the AAS SecurePlus, an integrated screening and logistic solution for e-commerce shipments, and AAS ChinaLink — which offers road feeder services to facilitate the transportation of cargo between major cities in mainland China and the global market via Hong Kong under a land-air intermodal approach.
Recognizing Hong Kong's role as a gateway to China and a preferred transshipment center for air freight, in early 2023, AAT launched the upstream acceptance service at the Hong Kong International Airport Logistics Park (HKIALP) in Dongguan, which further optimizes supply chain connectivity of China through Hong Kong with the rest of the world, under the sea-air intermodal.
