BGS and Smartwings Extend Partnership at Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn Airports
International ground handling, aircraft fuel supply and logistics service provider Baltic Ground Services (BGS) has announced the extension of its contract with the Czech airline Smartwings. BGS will continue to supply aviation fuel to Smartwings at Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn airports. Partners since 2014, the companies will extend their partnership for another year, with the new contract having entered into force on April 1, 2024. “This year marks a decade of our collaboration with Smartwings. Happy to continue our long-standing partnership, we see this extension as a sign of mutual trust, respect and satisfaction," said Vitalis Dudys, the BGS group’s head of commerce. “Over the years, both our requirements and expectations grew significantly. I am pleased to say that BGS was always able not only to meet, but also to exceed those expectations,” said Lukas Benes, director ground operations at Smartwings. Last year, Tallinn joined the list of airports where BGS provides Smartwings with aviation fuel. The company has also recently renewed contracts for fuel supply with Hungarian airline Wizz Air and Irish airline Ryanair. BGS is part of the Avia Solutions Group – the world’s largest ACMI service company group, which operates a fleet of 212 aircraft. Companies belonging to the group also provide a variety of other aviation services, such as aircraft repair, pilot and crew training, and ground handling.
