    Deicing Fluid At JAC Seeps Into Groundwater

    A new U.S. Geological Survey study has determined that deicing fluids sprayed on planes at Jackson Hole Airport have likely seeped into underlying groundwater.

    The team of USGS scientists did not find glycol, the main component of deicers, in the aquifer, but did detect traces of chemicals that are commonly added to glycol-based deicing fluids.
