Menzies played part in sustainability milestone at San Francisco Airport
Menzies Aviation’s team at San Francisco (SFO) was a proud participant in a recent landmark event for sustainability at the airport.
On Sept. 15, United Airlines fuelled a B777 aircraft using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to mark the staging of the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco. The fuelling was performed by a Menzies Aviation tanker truck, which had been specially loaded for the occasion.
SAF is a term which refers to advanced biofuels that have been certified as ‘sustainable’ by a reputable monitoring body.
Kevin Brown (SVP North America Operations) and Randy Davies (SVP US Consortiums) said: “We are very excited to be working with United Airlines on their initiative to use biofuels to fuel aircraft departing from SFO. This is the second location where Menzies has provided Fuel Farm and Into-Plane Fuelling services in support of United’s environmental programmes. We would like to extend our thanks to both Menzies teams led by Paul Neville and Raul Vargas for their planning and management supervision of the project.”
