Aeroporti di Puglia and TCR Sign Agreement for Full-Service Rental and GSE Maintenance
Aeroporti di Puglia announces that it has signed an agreement for full-service rental and GSE (ground support equipment) maintenance with TCR Italia, a world leader in the GSE rental and management industry, starting from March 15, 2019.
By means of this agreement, Aeroporti di Puglia tackles the management of the airport GSE fleet in an innovative way: guaranteeing the renewal of the most obsolete vehicles and the daily availability of a predetermined number of vehicles; reduce the frequency of breakdowns and the unavailability of vehicles due to need for repairs, thanks to the more efficient and effective management of the maintenance program; improve its protection of the environment with the greater use of electric GSE or with the latest generation of endothermic engines and finally, but not least, increasing the safety of passengers and operators thanks to the introduction of telematic control systems for vehicles and aircraft assisted approach devices based on the new IATA AHM913 regulation.
For Aeroporti di Puglia this agreement is part of a policy that sees it involved, as a modern public sector company managing services and infrastructures in favor of a community, in guiding its choices with the highest attention to socio-environmental aspects and to the transparency and fairness of management processes.
Tiziano Onesti, President of Aeroporti di Puglia: “The renewal of our GSE fleet allows us to modulate, with efficiency and absolute safety and the highest comfort standards, the right equipment for our traffic requirements, taking particular care of our passengers and airlines. Furthermore, with the introduction of new generation vehicles, Aeroporti di Puglia confirms itself as a company that is always careful to “green” choices, having at its heart the issues of sustainability and corporate social responsibility, at all levels and in every activity."
Francois Peeters General Manager TCR Italia: "We are very honored to have been selected by Aeroporti di Puglia for this project, not only for the importance of its size, but above all because, in addition to allowing us to demonstrate TCR's ability to manage complex, custom-made solutions, it allows us to support Aeroporti di Puglia in the strategic development of the 4 Apulian airports, each with its own specific vocation, namely Bari and Brindisi for passenger traffic, Taranto Grottaglie for the aerospace industry and the only authorized spaceport in Europe, and finally Foggia’s Gino Lisa airport which, with the recognition of the SGEI (General Economic Interest Service) will see the development of a logistic base of the Italian Civil Protection."
