TLD Deploys Autonomous Bus at Manufacturing Site
TLD recently announced that it has continued developing automonous vehicles with its partner EasyMile.
Following the first test of TractEasy, an autonomous baggage tractor created by the two companies, EasyMile and TLD have deployed an autonomous bus, EZ10, on the TLD manufacturing site of Sorigny, France.
According to a press release on TLD's website, the EZ10 has a capacity of 12 people, driving at 25 km/h. The vehicle will operate daily within TLD's industrial site to transport employees and customers during their site visits/tours, from the test rig where all the company's towbarless and pushback tractors are fully tested, all the way to the corporate restaurant.
The release explains that the technology embedded in the EZ10 is the same as for the TractEasy -- volume and positioning lidars, GPS, odometer and lasers. This electrical shuttle bus drives fully autonomously, from one station to another, scanning the environment to adapt to it permanently and react to any unexpected fixed or mobile obstacles.
