TAC Air, a division of Truman Arnold Companies, presented an award to the Omaha Airport Authority in appreciation for their part in the FBO chain’s being awarded “#1 Large FBO Chain” FOR 2011 by the readers of Professional Pilot magazine.
Mike Wilwerding, general manager of TAC Air at Eppley Airfield, made the presentation to airport authority director Steve A. Coufal, “With appreciation to your contribution in our winning this award”. TAC Air last won the award in 2006. According to Greg Arnold, President & CEO of TAC Air’s parent Truman Arnold Companies, “Ultimately, the customer benefits with award-winning service when an airport authority like Omaha’s understands how to work with a private FBO. This award is evidence of such”.
TAC Air also introduced a proposal to build additional hangar space at Eppley Field. “We’ve heard the feedback from the customers, the airport has heard feedback from the customers for the need for additional hangar space.” stated Christian Sasfai, TAC Air
Vice President & COO in his presentation to the board. The proposal consists of a “two phase” approach of constructing a 24,000 hangar initially, with a second 24,000 sq. ft. facility once the initial hangar is fully occupied. TAC Air proposed the airport add approximately 2.3 more acres and extend their current lease with the airport in order to amortize the construction costs. Under the proposal, TAC Air would fund 100% of the hangar construction costs with ownership of the hangars reverting back to the airport at the end of the extended lease.
