The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority is hiring one of its former executives as a consultant.
The authority will pay about $5,000 to former vice president of marketing Dave Conklin. Earlier this year, Conklin retired after working in the airline industry for 41 years.
The authority's board voted unanimously to hire Conklin at its monthly meeting on Wednesday.
Airport spokeswoman Beth Baker said Conklin will advise the Airport Authority on a wide range of issues.
Also at the meeting, the board unanimously approved the addition of some electronic fl ight boards in the terminal area. Those boards, or screens, are used to inform passengers on the status of a particular fl ight.
