SkyWest's passenger traffic increased 14.1 percent in October, the St. George-based airline holding company said today.

One RPM is equal to one paying passenger traveling one mile.

Last week, SkyWest said its fleet size increased to 437 airplanes from 407 in the year ending Sept. 30.

Occupied seats fell to 77.6 percent in October from 78 percent a year ago.

Passenger boardings totaled 3 million, up 12 percent from 2.68 million in October 2006. SkyWest is the parent company of SkyWest Airlines and Atlantic Southeast Airlines.
