Sunwing Airlines begins service at SW Fla. International

Southwest Florida International Airport has another new airline.

Sunwing Airlines has started weekly service to Toronto, Canada, according to a release from the Lee County Port Authority.

Two airlines, AirTran and JetBlue, have recently announced plans to expand their service into Fort Myers. Those airlines have added more flights to Akron/Canton (Ohio), Boston, Buffalo, Chicago Midway, Flint (Mich.), Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, White Plains (N.Y.) and Toronto.

Currently, 22 carriers provide nonstop service between Fort Myers and more than 39 nonstop destinations, including three international cities.
