Northwest Signs Codeshare Agreement with Midwest

Sept. 21, 2007

A codeshare agreement has been signed between Northwest Airlines (NYSE:NWA) and Midwest Airlines.

The agreement has been signed for tickets purchased from November 3, 2007 for travel starting from November 17, 2007. Northwest's Hawaii-bound flights from Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles are to be part of the first phase of the codeshare agreement. Midwest Airlines' two letter 'YX' code is to be displayed on the Northwest operated flights. Accrual and redemption benefits are to be enjoyed by members of both airlines.

According to Nathaniel Pieper, Northwest's vide president-alliances, 'This is just the first step in expanding the networks of both carriers by opening up 250 city-pairs and more than a 1,000 new flight options for customers. Codesharing allows Northwest to offer our customers the expanded reach of two airlines while enjoying the convenience of a single ticket and check-in.'
