Start-up airline Virgin America has made an alliance with Sundance Channel.

The carrier said the agreement not only creates a custom in-flight "channel", but also provides a range of content.

Virgin America said that Sundance Channel for Virgin America features a collection of award-winning independent feature films and documentaries, as well as original programming from several of the Channel's hit series.

Sundance Channel is reportedly home to "Iconoclasts" and "Big Ideas for a Small Planet", as well as acquired series such as "Kath and Kim" and "Slings and Arrows" and a broad selection of feature films and documentaries.

No financial details have been disclosed.
